WICHITA, Kan. - Aug. 31, 2013 - PRLog -- As President Obama decides on U.S. intervention in Syria, local Wichitans will join global No War With Syria demonstrations on Saturday to express strong opposition.

Wichitan Ethan McCord, an Iraq war veteran featured in the Academy Award-nominated documentary film Incident in New Baghdad, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incident_in_New_Baghdad) will join at least 100 others to stand against U.S. intervention in Syria.

McCord was the first soldier to reach the victims of the incident documented in the "Collateral Murder" video released to Wikileaks (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikileaks) by PFC Bradley Manning, who is now known as Chelsea Manning.  McCord supported the decision by Wikileaks to release the video, stating, "I don’t say that Wikileaks did a bad thing, because they didn't. ... I think it is good that they’re putting this stuff out there. I don’t think that people really want to see this, though, because this is war. ... It’s very disturbing."

Over 140 individuals have indicated that they will attend the local demonstration on the event's facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/events/489615451123562/).  It will be at 21st and Rock Road at Bradley Fair, begins at 10:00am and is expected to last throughout the day.
