Argentina Mandates the Use of Online Tax Return System

SUNNYVALE, Calif. - Aug. 30, 2013 - PRLog -- As of August 1, 2013, the Argentine government has made it mandatory for taxpayers to use Argentina’s online tax return system (SIFERE) to submit their gross revenue reports to the local authorities, says Nair & Co.'s International Tax Services (http://www.nair-co.com/tax-compliance.aspx) Team.

Argentine Tax Return Filing System

Argentina taxes businesses on their turnover (gross revenue).The tax rates vary with the type of activity and jurisdiction. The tax rate is applicable to the entire amount of gross receipts accumulated in a calendar year.

In order to avert multiple taxation, the Argentine government has a provision of a ‘Multilateral Agreement’ (Convenio Multilateral) which enables the distribution of taxable payments among various jurisdictions.

New Version of the E-filing System

On July 23, 2013, the Argentine government has approved version 3 of the online filing system. Taxpayers operating under a ‘Multilateral Agreement’ can now make use of the new version of the online tax return system to submit their monthly and annual income tax reports.
