Conejo Valley YMCA After School Child Care Available in Moorpark, Thousand Oaks

MOORPARK, Calif. - Aug. 29, 2013 - PRLog -- Moorpark, Calif.--Parents of Moorpark students in kindergarten through sixth grades can sign up their children for Conejo Valley YMCA after school child care. The child care programs take place on Moorpark campuses.

         The Conejo YMCA afterschool program is located at Peach Hill and Mountain Meadows elementary schools. After school transportation is provided to Mountain Meadows for kids from Arroyo West and Campus Canyon.

         The Conejo Valley YMCA child care is state licensed with a staff ratio of one to 12 students. All staff are CPR/First Aid certified. A typical day begins with a snack, homework time followed by age-appropriate enrichment activities including science projects, dramatic play, music, arts and crafts and outdoor play. Children participate in monthly community service projects.

         Conejo Valley YMCA child care is also available at MATES Charter School in Thousand Oaks.

         "The Conejo YMCA has been providing child care for the area for more than two decades," says Meghan Lopez, aquatics, camps and childcare director at the Conejo Valley YMCA, which services Moorpark, Thousand Oaks and the Santa Rosa Valley.          Hours are 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and after school through 6:00 p.m. Full time and part time care is available. Child care is also available through the other branches of the Southeast Ventura County YMCA.
