Former Casino Employee Takes Gamble on Provocative Tell-All Insider Book on Industry
John-Talmage Mathis explores the ins and outs of Louisiana casino industry in his latest release “I Deal to Plunder” which details his less than ideal work experience coupled with discrimination and backlash
“After graduating with a MBA, I felt that employment with one of the city’s largest employers would be an advantageous stepping stone for my career,” says Mathis. “To my disappointment, I found the casino infrastructure deficient in morals and ethics and was soon disenfranchised. It is through this harrowing experience that I decided to shed light on the crippling effect of gambling and addiction”
“I Deal To Plunder” has been met with favorable reviews and high applause from early readers and is being hailed as an “explosive first-hand glimpse into a very exploitative industry.” The hindsight perspective aims to educate the reader into making better decisions in their own career pursuits and life choices.
Mathis is also the author of “For the (soon) unemployed: You Against Them” and holds an MBA from Louisiana State University in Shreveport . He has also simultaneously attained a B.S. in marketing, B.S. in management, as well as an A.S. in Computer Information Technology from McNeese State University. He has served proudly in the U.S. military from 1999-2005. Since his departure from the casino, Mathis has taken to a stoic path and enjoys his days with family and his dog, Nestle. Currently residing in Enterprise, Ala., he is working on his third novel, and further serves as a pro se litigant at the Western District Federal Court to bring forth an awareness of the issues he writes about in “I Deal to Plunder”.
