NEW YORK - Aug. 28, 2013 - PRLog -- “Sportfolio,” Bloomberg TV’s weekly look at the business of sports, returns for its fall season this Thursday, August 29th with a comprehensive look at the business strategy and operation of a major golf championship, as host Rick Horrow visits the 95th PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club.

Horrow interviews PGA of America  President Ted Bishop, CEO Peter Bevacqua, Chief Championships Officer Kerry Haigh, and other senior PGA of America officials as they coordinate the many activities of the Championship inside and outside the ropes. Bloomberg cameras capture the decision process in the weather command center as Kerry Haigh and the PGA's on-site meteorologists consult during a rain delay.  Horrow also speaks with qualifying PGA club professional Mark Sheftic, CBS Sports Chairman Sean McManus, and other partners in the event.

Championships provide nearly 60 percent of the PGA of America's annual operating revenue. This episode of Sportfolio presents a vivid picture of how the organization invests resources in its marquee event, and how it uses the Championship as a platform to serve its membership and promote its mission: to grow the game and business of golf across the nation and throughout the year.
