Riverstock Fights Blue/Green Toxic Algae

Toxic water cut your sandbar season short? Come out and support Riverstock.

JENSEN BEACH, Fla. - Aug. 26, 2013 - PRLog -- Jensen Beach, FL- With Labor Day approaching and the St. Lucie River continuing to have high toxin levels that are unsafe for recreational activities, Chillin the Most has teamed up with the Clean Water Movement and the Rivers Coalition to present South Florida with “Riverstock”. Riverstock is an all age benefit festival featuring 5 live bands at Jensen Public Beach Pavilion. The event takes place on Sunday, September 1st at 2pm with a free bounce house, free face painting, free arts and crafts for the kids; and $10 all you can drink for the adults. All proceeds go directly to the Rivers Coalition to help save our rivers.

After the recent rallies that had exceptional turnouts, the main goal of this event will be to have the same great participation but the first event to actually raise significant funds for the river. Every year thousands flock to our sandbar to celebrate Labor Day and now that it is hazardous to be in the water from Ft. Pierce to Jupiter we entice everyone to come spend their sandbar Sunday at the beach. With all this in consideration, if there is half the turnout that came for the hands across the beach event we can break it down into - Riverstock Math: 5,000 unhappy citizens + $10 suggested donation = $50,000 to help buy our rivers back!
