Evan Guthrie Law Firm Helps Moderate and Organize Color Of Justice Event For Students In Orangeburg,

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Aug. 25, 2013 - PRLog -- Attorney Evan Guthrie of the Evan Guthrie Law Firm in Charleston, South Carolina helped to moderate and organize the Color of Justice program in Orangeburg, SC on Saturday March, 30 2013. The Color Of Justice helps introduce the law profession to diversity middle and high school students in a day long program that includes interaction with practicing lawyers, judges, law students, and law school professors and admissions personnel. The goal of the event was to help encourage diversity students to consider the practice of law and answer any questions the have on how the process works and how they may one day become lawyers. The event was held at W.J. Clark Middle School in Orangeburg in the school’s media center and class rooms. The main panel discussions were held in the open portion of the school’s media center with speakers facing different tables of students while breakout discussions and lunch with small groups of students and speakers were held in different class rooms in the school.

This was the second consecutive year that the program was held in Orangeburg and that Attorney Evan Guthrie was able to participate. Mr. Guthrie helped moderate the event by asking questions and leading discussions with speakers and students. Attorney Guthrie made sure that the students felt comfortable to interrupt the speakers and ask any questions they may have had on any aspect of the path from middle and high school to being a law student, lawyer, or judge. Speakers gave their best advice to inspire students to consider a law career and give them the information to make their aspirations come true. Attorney Guthrie enjoyed being able to help with such a worthy event that potentially can have a long term impact on the legal profession in South Carolina. Mr. Guthrie has also helped with Color of Justice events in Charleston and Columbia and looks forward to being part of many more events in the future.
