As part of their services, the GACC South will be hosting six German alcohol producers in Atlanta in August to help them explore the U.S. alcohol beverage market and business potential.

ATLANTA - Aug. 22, 2013 - PRLog -- From August 26-30, the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern US, Inc. (GACC South) will be hosting six German alcoholic beverage producers as they explore business opportunities in the Southeastern United States. During the delegation, which is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection, the companies will gain knowledge about the U.S. market and have the opportunity to network with a variety of industry representatives. They will also learn about legal differences, product liability, FDA regulations, and labeling requirements in the U.S. Additionally, the GACC South has coordinated individual meetings for the participants in order for them to gain product-specific industry knowledge, as well as to create relationships for potential future business endeavors.

The six German alcoholic beverage manufacturers that are participating are:

August Ernst GmbH produces a variety of premium fruit brandies and fruit liqueurs. Grapefruit liqueur, cherry, pear and plum brandies are among their highly popular flavors that are both perfect cocktail additions or are delicious on their own. In an effort to stay true to their history of producing high quality, pure fruit brandies, August Ernst does not add any sugar to their Fruit Water Brandies, allowing all the sugar used in the fermentation to come from the fruits themselves, leading to more true tastes. http://www.august-ernst.de/home-en

Bayerischer Bahnhof Brau & Gaststättenbetrieb GmbH & Co. KG:The Gasthaus & Gosebrauerei Bayerischer Bahnhof is the home of a beer specialty: the Original Leipziger Gose. This specialty and other beers are brewed at the in-house brewery. The Gasthaus also produces an exclusive caraway liqueur: the “Echter Leipziger Allasch”. The Allasch was introduced in 1830 and since then the drink has become popular in the region. The distilled spirit produced by Bayerischer Bahnhof is a great ingredient in many cocktails due to its sweetness and distinctive taste.  In addition to a distillery and a brewery, the Bahnhof contains a large restaurant, as well as a beer garden that has open seating in the warmer seasons. The Bayerischer Bahnhof is looking to foster a relationship with a distributor in the Southeast that specializes in Spirits and other alcoholic beverages. http://www.bayerischer-bahnhof.de/de/startseite/index.html

Chjlya (“Chill-ya”) is short for the organic cocktail, Chjlya Cachaca-Lime, which is similar to the national cocktail of Brazil, the Caipirinha. As a ready-to-drink cocktail, Chjlya can either be served chilled directly from the bottle, or on ice. The Brazilian Cachaça Tropical Brazilis utilized in the cocktail is liquor made from organic sugar cane sustainably grown in Brazil.  A co-op of small farmers produces the certified organic liquor, and Chjlya works closely with them to ensure the sustainability of their process and pays fair trade prices to help boost the region’s economy. The Cachaça  is mixed with lime juice to achieve a crisp, refreshing flavor featuring slightly bitter notes.  http://www.chjlya.de/

Dr. Demuth GmbH & Co. KG / Katlenburger Kellerei is a family-operated company that has been processing juices from a variety of fruits—both domestic and exotic—for its superior fruit wines for over eighty years. Located in Lower Saxony, Katlenburger has not only achieved recognition as Europe’s leading fruit winery, the brand is also enjoyed throughout the world.  Beverages include classic fruit wine varieties such as strawberry, cherry and black currant as well as mango and strawberry sparkling wine, sparkling cocktails and ‘ready-to-drink’ cocktails. Katlenburger exports its products worldwide and is currently expanding its presence and product offering in the US. http://www.katlenburger.de/index.cfm?lang=2

Weinallianz, or “Wine Alliance”, represents 9 wine makers from 7 different regions in Germany. Its members produce many different types of wines, from traditional Rieslings to dryer, red wines, exemplifying the wide assortment attributed to lower Germany. Currently, the Weinallianz represents 65 red wine labels and 76 white wine labels, as well as 18 rosé and 6 sparkling wine and prosecco brands. German winemakers have a rich tradition of passing on recipes from generation to generation and the Weinallianz aims to educate consumers that quality wine does not necessarily come from large manufacturers.  http://www.weinallianz24.de/

Weinbau Dr. Lippold: As an artisanal winemaker, Dr. Lippold’s Weinbau offers two labels: Dr. Lippold’s  and Empress Josephine’s Riesling. The grapes for its Riesling varieties are grown in two microclimatically privileged plots within the world famous Ürziger Würzgarten in the Mosel valley in Germany. Dr Lippold’s Riesling is the product of the "Weltersberg"  a vineyard  with former Grand Cru classification, while Empress Josephine’s Riesling comes from the " Neuberg", of Premier Cru class. The winemaking philosophy is to fully express the character of the two terroirs: Old vines on pre-phyloxera rootstock, unique red slate soil and minimalistic cellar intervention result in wines with strong mineral character and a complex, mature taste. Since 2006, the winery has been offering its Riesling wine to Germany as well as other foreign markets. http://www.drlippold.com/

On the evening of August 27th, the GACC South will host a Tasting Reception to allow the above participants to showcase their products to selected representatives of the alcoholic beverage industry. For further information, please contact:
