NORWALK, Conn. - Aug. 21, 2013 - PRLog -- Norwalk, CT – August 21, 2013:  It seems to makes perfect sense to the regular football person that the HITRight Helmet Sensor be a part of the USA Football HEADS UP program, since both aim to teach Heads Up tackling. Helmet HALO Technologies, a leading innovator of electronic training aids for contact sports based in Norwalk, Connecticut, and manufacturer of the HITRight Sensor, which is a in helmet technology based training aid that teaches and reinforces proper Heads Up tackling.

USA Football which is the governing body for football in the US is being very derelict in its duties and responsibilities. Scott Hallenbeck who is the president of USA Football introduced their HEADS Up tackling program in partnership with the NFL last year and rolled it out throughout the country this year. The model of the program is to send trained coaches across the country to train youth and high school coaches on Heads Up tackling. Heads Up tackling is very critical for player safety as it related to head and spinal injuries. The issue is the training is being done for the coaches and they are supposed to go back to their communities and transfer what they’ve learned to their youth players.  The big issue is that they have only trained a couple hundred trainers, so millions of 3.5 million youth football players in America won’t get the training and reinforcement they need ensure they are playing the game safer. With that said Scott Hallenbeck won’t even look this training aid that would bolster his program and ensure that all our youth get the necessary training on this this tackling technique. This is very derelict on his part because he feels that this sensor will make his program less relevant or even obsolete, which then affects the money he gets from the NFL, but he is doing this at the expense of our young athletes. The HEADS Up program is all show and no substance. It does not have the boots on the ground to make this program a success. Scott Hallenbeck is more interest about holding onto his money, than he is about safety for our youth. He is getting away with this and no one is calling him out on this. Shouldn’t we be concerned about this? Shouldn’t parents be concerned?

Jerome Tomlin, president & co-founder of Helmet HALO Technology says, “It is very unfortunate that Mr. Hallenbeck has some personal insecurity issues which has clouded his judgment. I personally reached out to Mr. Hallenbeck and he had one of his associates respond to me, just so he could say our organizations talked. In the end not one person from USA Football evaluated the technology to see its effectiveness and the possible reach the product could have on the millions of youth football players.”
