Blackpool-based CME Medical named in the top 10 Lancashire businesses

Aug. 21, 2013 - PRLog -- Blackpool-based CME Medical has been named as one of the top ten most profitable SME businesses in Lancashire in a recent survey.

The company, which provides specialist infusion products to the medical community, has seen its business go from strength to strength in the past few years, with an increase in sales of 50% in 2011, up to £12 million.

CME provides infusion products for medical specialities including pain management, palliative care, oncology, nutrition and other clinical applications. Since the survey data was compiled, it has also helped to create more new jobs in the area, increasing the number of employees from 55 to 75 during 2012.

Executive Chairman, Stephen Thorpe, will be discussing the reasons behind  CME Medical’s success at a breakfast event on Thursday, August 22^nd. He said: “At CME it’s all about really listening to and understanding the challenges and issues our customers face in their clinical practice and working with them to develop innovative solutions that make their practice safer and more effective.”

Key companies from the “Hot 100” list – published by Lancashire Business View – will come together for the breakfast event at Brockholes Nature Reserve on Thursday (8am – 10am), giving people an opportunity to question the business leaders on how they achieved their commercial success.

CME Medical, based on Kincraig Business Park, Blackpool, was ranked ninth out of 100, in the Hot 100 list 2013 and was the highest ranked Fylde Coast business.

John Carrington, Managing Director at CME Medical, said: “We are constantly looking at new treatment areas by working closely with health organisations, key opinion leaders and researchers and providing comprehensive technical and practical help in clinical trials. Included in our extensive customer portfolio are over 300 NHS Trusts, private hospitals, homecare providers and GP surgeries within the UK. We have recently moved into new areas such as clinical trials , where our pumps are being used all over the world.”

CME Medical is a community-focussed company which is committed to supporting local organisations and the team are frequently involved in high profile fundraising activities to support Lancashire-based charitable endeavours.
