SOUTH YARRA, Australia - Aug. 20, 2013 - PRLog -- The Stonier International Pinot Noir Tasting – known to those who have followed it for the past 14 years as SIPNOT – is being held at The Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney on Monday 28 October 2013  as part of Good Food Month.

This acclaimed tasting offers the chance to sample 12 of the world’s finest pinot noirs in the company of some of the wine world’s greatest authorities. This year esteemed Australian wine identities James Halliday AM and Huon Hooke will lead the expert panel, joined by Stonier winemaker, Mike Symons. MC for the evening will be Peter Bourne aka ‘The Wine Man.’ Guests will be welcomed to the tasting by Stonier founder, Brian Stonier AO.

Announcing the line-up of wines, Stonier winemaker Mike Symons said making the choice is one of his most pleasurable – and difficult - tasks each year. “This year was particularly tough as 2010 was an excellent vintage in the old world, while 2011 was challenging for Australian winemakers.  Finding the balance between old and new world pinot noir from 2010 and 2011 was a challenge, ultimately those who attend SIPNOT will decide if I got it right.”

The selection of wines for this year’s event includes:
•   2010 Domaine Duroché, Charmes Chambertin, Grand Cru, Burgundy, France
•   2010 Domaine Jean Grivot, Nuits St Georges, Les Pruliers, Premier Cru, Burgundy, France
•   2010 Domaine Comte Armand, Pommard, Clos des Epeneaux, Premier Cru, Burgundy, France
•   2011 Burn Cottage Vineyard,Pinot Noir, Central Otago, New Zealand
•   2010 Williams Selyem, Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, California, USA
•   2011 Bannockburn, Serré Pinot Noir, Geelong, Australia
•   2011 Stonier, KBS Vineyard Pinot Noir, Mornington Peninsula, Australia

Part of the fun is that while wine lovers know the names of the wines they are tasting, the order they are served isn’t revealed until the end.

Due to the rarity of the wines seats are strictly limited.
