Carol Bryant Named Finalist for Women in the Pet Industry Woman of the Year Award

FORTY FORT, Pa. - Aug. 20, 2013 - PRLog -- Carol Bryant, PR and Marketing Manager of BlogPaws, writer/blogger, and CEO/Founder of Fidose of Reality magazine-style dog blog, has been named a finalist in the Women in the Pet Industry Woman of the Year Award competition. Bryant was nominated in the Advocate category. She and 24 others will now move on to compete within the categories and finally, for the Pet Industry Woman of the Year Award.

Award categories include Solopreneur, Entrepreneur, Corporation, Advocate, and Rising Star. Five finalists were named in each category, and one overall Pet Industry Woman of the Year will be chosen from the 25 finalists. A panel of four independent judges reviewed and scored nominations for more than 60 applicants in the five categories. The judges included a broadcaster, a publisher, a CEO and a former business school owner.

A dog lover of the highest order is how Gayle King introduced Carol Bryant when she and her Cocker Spaniel, Dexter, appeared on Oprah Radio’s Gayle King show to dish dogs. A frequent media contributor, Carol has appeared on television, radio, and in print. A repeat nominee from the Dog Writers Association of America, Carol contributes to Dogster and Pet360 and is the PR and Marketing Manager for BlogPaws ( pet blogger social media community and conferences. She and her PR (Puppy Relations) Manager, Dexter, have attended all five BlogPaws conferences to date and she is active in canine rescue and fundraising. She is the founder of Fidose of Reality (, a canine-centric online magazine dog blog where dog lovers of the highest order unite,™ a consistently ranked Technorati top 100 pet blog.

As part of her advocacy for dogs in need, Bryant co-founded Wigglebutt Warriors, crusading to save dogs’ lives. The Wigglebutt Warriors hosts a different “fun-draiser” every year, rotating pet rescues benefiting from them. On Saturday, September 13, 2014, the Wilshire Grand Hotel in West Orange, New Jersey, will play host to “Wigglebutts Go Hollywoof,” where doggie hosts, Dexter and Zoe, will walk the red “paw-pet” with 150 of their shining star guests. This gala is the follow-up event to Wigglebutt Wedding, a dog wedding that united rescue dog, Zoe, with her Cocker love, Dexter. Wigglebutt Wedding featured a princess-style wedding with 120 human and 50 doggie guests, garnering over 40 media hits, including Parade magazine, a half-hour segment on Pet Talk News12CT, the Huffington Post, and many more.

Benefactors of the 2014 “Wigglebutts Go Hollywoof” gala are: Vested Interest in K9s, which will be provided a bullet-proof/stab-proof vest for one canine in need; and Oldies but Goodies Cocker Spaniel Rescue.

Creative fundraising, pet travel, pet products, and pet blogging are at the core of Bryant’s passions in the pet industry. Fundraising efforts include the $10 Dog of the Day campaign to raise funds for dogs in need and featuring a different adoptable dog on Fidose of Reality every week.

The Advocate Award is bestowed upon a woman of merit who has tirelessly devoted herself to advocating on behalf of those that cannot speak for themselves.
