London Business School to host local children’s picnic
The Marylebone’s campus in Church Street will host 25 families from the Portman Early Childhood Centre that have been invited by London Business School for a Teddy Bears’ Picnic on the 14th of August.
The head of the Community Action Group at London Business School, Tina Clark commented: “London Business School has an active Community Action Group, which promotes volunteering amongst its staff. The School has partnered with organisations such as Career Academies UK, Young Enterprise and Kids Company and is actively building a relationship with the local community, particularly in the nearby Church Street area”.
She also added that London Business School, privileged with a beautiful garden on campus, is delighted to have the opportunity to open the garden up and invite the families from Portman Centre locality to enjoy a picnic with them.
In the vibrant area around Church Street, the Portman Centre, has become the backbone on which many families rely to help themselves develop and reach their full potential.
Face painting, Games and other fun activities have been organised for the enjoyment of the families attending the front lawn in the Campus, thanks to volunteers from The Lexington School Operations Delivery Team and The Caterers expressing their enthusiasm for the project.
Portman’s Early Childhood Centre head Teacher, Joanna White, said: ““We are really delighted to have such a positive relationship with the London Business School. The School has already been extremely helpful and their expertise is proving to be invaluable. The picnic is an opportunity to have some fun - having a good time with your child is important for everyone and enjoying strong family relationships is a big part of being a parent”.
Amongst one of the 12 children’s centres in the Borough of Westminster, The Portman Early Childhood Centre; offers free parenting support and information for their local area.
Even though it is children that the centre focuses on, parents also benefit from other services on offer like: early education and health services, parenting classes, help getting back to work and adult education classes.
