Kia Motors Boasts Top-Selling July of All Time

MANASSAS, Va. - Aug. 17, 2013 - PRLog -- Kia Motors America is among the fastest growing companies in the auto industry, being one of only three auto brands to have experienced U.S. sales growth in each of the past four years. That ascension doesn’t appear to be slowing down, either, as Kia recently announced its best-ever July sales numbers, exceeding 49,000 units sold for a 2 percent year-over-year increase compared to July 2012.

Kia’s record-setting month was driven by a combination of explosive growth in Forte sales and the continued popularity of trademark vehicles like the Optima and Soul. The automaker sold 7,277 Kia Forte sedans this July, compared to 6,216 during the same time period a year ago. The Optima and Soul also showed sales increases of 435 and 97 units, respectively, and the two models accounted for 49 percent of all Kia sales in July. In addition, Kia sold 1,627 all-new Cadenzas, marking the second consecutive month Cadenza sales topped 1,000.

“Motorists continue to flock to their local dealerships to buy the Kia Optima and Soul for their spacious interiors, advanced technology, impressive gas mileage and incredible prices,” said Andy Thomas, general manager of Brown’s Manassas Kia, a Virginia Kia dealership. “Each of these models is versatile and technologically advanced while still being affordable no matter what your budget is."

Affordability might be helping to generate interest in the Kia Optima and Soul, but if J.D. Power and Associates' recent APEAL survey is any indication, it's one of many beneficial features. The new Kia Soul was recently named the top Compact Multi-Purpose Vehicle, according to the APEAL Study, which polled more than 83,000 buyers and lessees regarding their 2013-model-year vehicles after 90 days of ownership. The Kia Optima, which has been Kia's top-selling model for the past 20 months, was second in the study’s Midsize Car category. In addition to notable fuel efficiency, the Optima and Soul feature a number of advanced technological features, from standard Bluetooth connectivity to optional infotainment and navigation systems, which provide motorists with improvements in both safety and convenience.
