High Swartz Partner Melissa M.Boyd Appointed to

NORRISTOWN, Pa. - Aug. 15, 2013 - PRLog -- NORRISTOWN, Pa. (August 15, 2013) – High Swartz LLP, a general practice law firm based in Norristown, Pa., announced that Partner Melissa M. Boyd was recently appointed to the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s (PBA’s) Family Law Section (FLS) Executive Committee.  The PBA was established in 1895; its FLS is comprised of approximately 1,400 attorneys, and is committed to the development and practical working of the law relating to marriage, divorce, child support and domestic relations matters.  More information about the PBA and the FLS may be found at https://www.pabar.org/.

Daniel J. Clifford, managing partner of Weber Gallagher’s Norristown, Pa. office, appointed Boyd as one of his first actions as the new PBA FLS chair.  An active member of the PBA FLS since 2004, Boyd’s responsibilities for this one-year term include: assisting in making decisions on various PBA FLS initiatives, including legislative initiatives, conference meetings, by-laws, and financial decisions. 

Boyd concentrates her practice on divorce, pre-nuptial and post-divorce agreements, as well as child custody and support, equitable distribution, alimony, adoptions, protection from abuse and juvenile law.  She is also a current member of the PBA’s FLS Council, overseeing and managing the programs, activities and initiatives of the section, and has served on many other committees for the PBA’s FLS over the years. 

In addition to the PBA FLS, Boyd is an active member of the Family Law Section of the Montgomery Bar Association, as well as the Doris Jonas Freed American Inn of Court for Family Law, and frequently presents on family law topics to these organizations as well as the Pennsylvania Bar Institute.  Boyd is a graduate of Washington College, and received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Baltimore School of Law.
