Bridge to ICD-10 Training Event to Hit Boston, MA, Dallas, TX, and Los Angeles, CA

BEDFORD, Mass. - Aug. 15, 2013 - PRLog -- The locations for Libman Education’s Bridge to ICD-10 tour—a dynamic, live training event featuring nationally-recognized ICD-10 experts—are now official, with the much-anticipated training event slated to hit Boston (Waltham), MA, Dallas, TX, and Los Angeles, CA in September and November 2013.

“If you need to prepare for ICD-10, then don’t miss this event!,” said Susan Pepple, vice president of Libman Education. “Bridge to ICD-10 is set to be huge, in terms of quality content and dynamic training. The tour features face-to-face ICD-10 instruction by two of the foremost ICD-10 experts, Gail Smith and Lynn Kuehn; open discussions about problematic areas in coding; and a dual onsite/online learning experience to maximize ICD-10 preparedness.” 

The tour consists of two full-day live instructional programs. The first day focuses on ICD-10-CM, and the second day focuses on ICD-10-PCS (participants can attend either day or both). Attendees learn foundational ICD-10 material, glean insights into the details of ICD-10 coding, and get instant feedback from leading ICD-10 experts. 

In addition, for each day of training, attendees receive a free 60-minute, online self-paced pre-event primer course. 

The ICD-10 training event kicks off September 4 & 5 in Boston (Waltham) at the ForefrontCenter for Meetings and Conferences. The tour then moves on to Dallas, TX November 14 & 15 at the Hilton Anatole. The tour closes in Los Angeles, California at the Los Angeles Airport Marriott on November 21 & 22.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Lynn Kuehn, MS, RHIA, CCS-P, FAHIMA
Lynn Kuehn is president of Kuehn Consulting, LLC, in Waukesha, Wisconsin, a consulting firm specializing in coding for all settings and physician practice management issues. Lynn provides training to small and large groups on ICD-9, ICD-10, and other HIM-related issues. Lynn served on the AHIMA Board of Directors and authored several of AHIMA’s popular books:  ICD-10-PCS: An Applied Approach; Procedural Coding and Reimbursement for Physician Services; CCS-P Exam Preparation; and A Practical Approach to Analyzing Healthcare Data. Lynn has been deeply immersed in the ICD-10 coding system and training for ICD-10 and was among the first instructors for AHIMA’s ICD-10 Train-the-Trainers.  Lynn brings her detailed knowledge of HIM issues for both hospitals and physician practices to the ICD-10 courses developed with Libman Education. 

Gail I. Smith, MA, RHIA, CCS-P
Gail Smith is president of Gail I. Smith Consulting in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Gail is among the instructors for AHIMA’s ICD-10 Train-the-Trainers and since 2010, has completed over 40 training sessions educating in excess of 4000 HIM professionals nationwide. Gail Smith is co-author of 2013 ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS Workbook published by Cengage. In addition, she recently published a comprehensive coding workbook for Cengage that includes ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT and HCPCS.  Gail also has a mapping contract for conversion of data files to ICD-10-CM/PCS for a federal agency. Having been deeply immersed in the ICD-10 coding system and training for ICD-10, Gail brings her detailed knowledge of how best to educate coding staff on the new system to the ICD-10 courses developed with Libman Education.
