Follow on Google News | Budget conscious Brits choose cars based on price more than anything elseWith the new car registrations upon us next month and the sale of new vehicles rocketing*, online car finance specialist Car Finance 247 carried out an independent study** to see what Joe Public looks for in a new or used car.
By: CarFinance247 Their research shows that: two-thirds (66%) of respondents say that affordability is the most important factor; nearly half (46%) rate fuel efficiency as the second most important consideration; nearly a third say the size of the vehicle is key to their choice (33%), as well as the cost of the car insurance (28%). While both male and female motorists said that affordability and fuel efficiency are the two most important factors for choosing a car, third on the list for men is size (35% compared to 29% for lady drivers). Cost-conscious females, however, cite the cost of the insurance as being in the top three (32% vs 26%). The three “least” important reasons for choosing a car are: whether it has a digital radio (just 2% say it is important); air conditioning (12%); the colour (15%). 17% of respondents plan to buy a new or used vehicle within the next 6 months.
