Unfortunately India tops the chart in road accidents leaving behind all countries. Indian roads have witnessed a constant rise in the number of motor vehicles. With such an upsurge in the number of vehicles, the number of deaths in road fatalities also increases. A Major factor behind road accidents include unsafe driving practices, poor maintenance of vehicles, poor road conditions, lack of awareness about the rules etc..in order to curb such fatalities, driver training grabs utmost importance because a well trained driver understands the right way to drive ad ensures daily check and routine maintenance of the vehicles.

In the year 2006, Mr. Ramesh Agarwal & Mr. Rajender Agarwal felt that in order to “Drive The Nation’s Economy” towards the positive end constantly, drivers were the key drivers of economy. And a survey was conducted the revelations of which, were very shocking and alarming.

For a man who had the transportation business at the heart of his venture, this seemed like an unbelievably and pathetic situation. Unanimously Mr. Ramesh Agarwal (Chairman Cum Working Manager) of Agarwal Packers & Movers Ltd. the company has been awarded as (Limca Record Holder) for the largest mover of household goods serving the nation since 1987 and offering first-rate Packers and Movers Services.  He was made the national president of ATWA in 2007 and that was when he pledged to work towards the up-liftment of the “drivers of our nation”.Realizing the corporate social responsibility (CSR) towards the driver community he has set the prototype by making the 1st “Driver Seva Kendra” of the country.  Owing to the callous elements that exist in society, a driver cannot afford to have an undisturbed sleep of 8 hours which is of utmost importance for a normal person. Against this, a driver gets to sleep short of even three hours in a day. Shri Agarwal’s idea was that the Driver Seva Kendra would be a “home away 

from home” for the poor drivers. Not only would the Kendra preserve the comfort of feeling at home, but also provide all the facilities necessary to make the drivers job easier.

India’s first driver seva Kendra made by APML is situated at the Jaipur Kishangarh highway (NH-8) built on a sprawling 55 acres and houses a building having over 500 cots & fans for the drivers to have an uninterrupted sleep. Allied facilities include barbers, large bathrooms and toilets, arrangements for parking vehicles. All these facilities are provided free of cost. The motels/dhabas that function here provide good and hygienic food at zero profit basis. Also available is a small retail shop where daily need commodities are sold at very reasonable rates. A small “Truck Repair Center” is also available here drivers can have their vehicle repaired whenever required at nominal charges.
