I Wrote A Book--act Two For Three

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. - Aug. 13, 2013 - PRLog --                        Local Author Says—I Wrote A Book

                             ACT TWO FOR THREE

         ACT TWO FOR THREE
by Barbara Fox, is about Jenna and Natalie and Liz and the way they adapt to things like computer classes, internet dating, travel, changing careers, romance and more in spite of, or maybe maybe because of their ages.  They are (shush, don’t tell) over seventy.

Jenna is a recent widow dealing with going out alone, answering questions from grandchildren (if grampa is dead where are his clothes?”) and dipping a toe into internet dating.

“Let me tell you about my operations”, said a man she met for lunch.

“I really don’t want to date but my psychiatrist said I should” another confided over coffee

“Okay, so I posted a picture from fifteen years ago, I don’t think I’ve  changed much since then”, a third, leaning on his  walker, said  when she didn’t recognize him at the restaurant.

Natalie is a glamorous singer who chose her career over marriage ---“Dan asked me to marry him but he wanted me to give up singing in clubs at night and traveling-----I’m pretty sure Alex would have asked me and then there was Martin, Melvin..I don’t even remember”.  Singing jobs are getting scarce and she needs to reinvent herself and/or her career and then, suddenly, she meets someone and is offered a whole other life.

Liz is a combination mother/wife/clubwoman/activist,  always busy, always in demand to chair a committee, comfort a child or grandchild, write a grant or organize a fund-raiser.   Her husband Joe upsets her busy, crowded life by announcing that he received a six month visiting professorship in France.  “Pack your bags, we’re going to France and we’re leaving in two weeks!” .

The women talk and compare notes over lunch and coffee and the telephone; they help and encourage each other; readers say they are  people you would like to have as friends.

Act Two For Three is available in soft cover and kindle on Amazon.com.

Author Barbara Fox based the three women on herself and two close friends; they are real but the situations in the book and the people they meet are fictional; the book started as a play which Barbara and her two friends perform as a staged reading for clubs and organizations.

Barbara Fox is the producer/director of Mystery on the Menu, an interactive theater company she founded in 1986.  She is also the author of Murder In The Inn, another Murder In The Inn and Murder is Served.  She lives a “vacation life”Hollywood Fl. where she enjoys the beach, line dancing, acting and, of course, writing.   She can be reached at bfwriter@aol.com
