EASTON, Pa. - Aug. 11, 2013 - PRLog -- Adults with cognitive challenges are sharing their special talents with the world in many ways.  On Saturday, August 17 at 2pm, one of these young adults, Matthew (Matt) ‘DJ DogTrane’ Cenac, will showcase his whimsically wicked blending of House, Hip-Hop, Show Tunes, Pop, Disco, and Electro at Used Grooves in Easton, PA.  Diagnosed with Autism in middle school, Matt’s love of turntables and all forms of music started in 1997.  Autism supports like social skills training and health management programs, prevalent in big cities like Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, are virtually non-existent in suburban Wilson Borough and Easton.  Through tenacity and with the help of his family and job coaches at Via of Lehigh County, Matt has been able to rise above his challenges and this year received his AS degree in Fine Arts from Northampton Community College in Bethlehem.

DJ DogTrane is now fiercely pursing his first love, spinning music for the public.  Matt’s turntable abilities are described as ‘must-see’, ‘one of a kind’, and ‘awe inspiring’ by those that have come to his shows.  His busy life includes co-anchoring Jam-On The Groove, a weekly Internet radio show on Global Funk Radio on Saturdays between 5-7 pm with his father ‘Cozmo-D’ of Newcleus (Jam On It, Jam On Revenge).  Matt ‘DJ DogTrane’, along with Cozmo-D will also perform at Club Jungle, in Easton, on Friday, August 23.  From there he is off to Paris, France on August 27 to introduce his special brand of blending to Europe.   Matt comes from a musical family which is evident in how he mixes all music genres.  His devotion to music is expanding via his record productions scheduled for release in December 2013.

“Stopping by Used Grooves is a must for vinyl lovers and crate digging devotees.  Brad, the manager, is a gem and they carry a wide range of foreign and domestic classics”, says Yvette ‘Lady-E’ Cenac.  If you are not able to catch up with DJ DogTrane during his European junket, you have at least two opportunities this month to chat with him and catch an electrified set by the self-titled King of Clubs.  Used Grooves is located at 401 Northampton Street in Easton.  Their telephone number is 610-252-8282.
