Back Inn Business: Many New Jersey Inns Reduce Their Rates this October to Mark Hurricane Sandy

More than two dozen inns, members of The Preferred Inns of New Jersey Bed & Breakfast Association, prepare to reduce rates, welcome guests and pump funds into the local economy in nod to historic milestone

SPRING LAKE, N.J. - Aug. 9, 2013 - PRLog -- The Preferred Inns of New Jersey Bed & Breakfast Association (http://www.njinns.com) is showing that there’s strength in numbers as many of its member inns are cutting their rates by 10% Sunday through Thursday this October (excluding Columbus Day weekend) as part of the Back Inn Business campaign. The initiative is a nod to the upcoming one-year anniversary of Hurricane Sandy. The storm was the deadliest and most destructive hurricane to hit the northeast in 40 years and the second-costliest hurricane in U.S. history. Many of the inns didn’t escape Sandy’s wrath; though all those participating have remade, rebuilt, and resurrected what the superstorm once claimed

Twenty-five bed and breakfasts are participating in Back Inn Business, all of which are members of The Preferred Inns of New Jersey Bed & Breakfast Association. This means guests can reserve a room starting now for 10% savings Sunday through Thursday during the month of October 2013 (excluding Columbus Day weekend; restrictions apply; subject to availability). This will afford travelers an opportunity to visit the Garden State during a significant historical time yet during a period when the weather is still welcoming. The shore is beautiful in the fall and other parts of New Jersey will be in prime leaf peeping season.

“This is a great initiative with a lot of heart,” said Esther Cohen, board member with the Preferred Inns of New Jersey Bed & Breakfast Association and innkeeper at Cedars & Beeches in Long Branch. “New Jersey has been through so much and the inns have too. We want people to know we’re here, we’re undamaged, and we’re open,” echoed Nancy Gallimore, innkeeper at The Sand Castle Bed & Breakfast in Barnegat Light, also with the Board.

Innkeepers who were affected by the storm are available to offer first-hand accounts of their experiences to guests though there are also innkeepers from areas that were not damaged by Sandy that are participating in the campaign in a show of camaraderie.

Travelers should call bed and breakfasts directly and mention “Back Inn Business” to make a reservation and visit each inn’s web site to check any applicable restrictions. Below is a list of all 25 participating inns. Additional details available online at http://www.BackInnBusiness.com.
