Boost your child's reading skills

A free download of read-along audio stories to give your child’s reading and literacy skills a kick-start

BOULDER, Colo. - Aug. 8, 2013 - PRLog -- We all know that language and literacy skills developed in early childhood help children thrive in childhood and beyond.

To help kick-start a love of stories, reading and ultimately aid literacy in children aged 3-9, Wonder Weaver – published by The Wonder Emporium – offers a combination of 45-60 minutes of audio stories, a hand-illustrated downloadable booklet with the full text of each story, and activity.

Their first issue has just been launched and is available as free download at http://www.wonderemporium.org/.

The gift of story

In our world of screens, Wonder Weaver offers classic stories and folk tales, beautifully told and lovingly illustrated. Children can listen to the stories, read along in the booklet, look at the pictures or color in pages from the booklet.

“I have such powerful memories of listening to stories and looking at picture books when I was a child, and I am certain that they contributed to my love of reading.” says Suzanne Whitby, founder and storyteller.  “I want to pass that on.”

Each issue of Wonder Weaver includes:

·       An audio download of 5-7 classic stories, fairy tales, folk tales and rhymes

·       A hand-illustrated booklet that contains the full text of each story for “reading along”

·       Activity sheets and coloring pages

The next issue of Wonder Weaver comes out on August 21, 2013, and every 2nd  Wednesday thereafter.

ABOUT THE WONDER EMPORIUM

The Wonder Emporium is a treasure chest of stories for children of all ages.  Presently we offer a free weekly story each Friday on our podcast, Wonder Pod, and a downloadable publication for children aged 3-9 called Wonder Weaver that provides all the good things that a book has to offer with the added excitement of audio recordings of each story, hand-drawn illustrations, and activity pages.

The aim of the organization is to give young listeners and readers access to a wide range of fairy tales, folk tales and classic literature, and hopefully contribute to their love of stories and reading.  For more information, contact Suzanne Whitby at pr@thewonderemporium.org or visit www.thewonderemporium.org.
