Jeep Voted Most Patriotic Brand in Consumer Survey

WEST ISLIP, N.Y. - Aug. 8, 2013 - PRLog -- Since World War II, Jeep has been an indelible part of the American story, and that history has contributed to the love its fans have for the off-road SUV lineup. Brand Keys, a marketing-research company, recently asked American consumers which brand was the most patriotic, and Jeep topped the list of 197 marques, beating out such iconic trademarks as Coca-Cola, Levi Strauss and Disney.

The survey was designed to measure brands' emotional resonance with consumers, regardless of their current advertising messages. With an emotional-engagement strength of 98 percent, Jeep took the top spot and was the only car or truck manufacturer to land in the top 10. Harley-Davidson was the closest motor-related brand, landing in ninth place in the Brand Keys survey.

"Jeep stands out because drivers instantly have an emotional connection with the brand, thanks to its history as an important military vehicle and its current reputation for capturing the search for adventure that defines Americans," said Eric Brennan, general manager of Atlantic Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, a Long Island Jeep dealer. Originally developed as a vehicle for the military, the Jeep Wrangler is easily the most recognizable model in the lineup. First produced by Willys-Overland in 1941, the military Jeep quickly became an essential piece of transportation for American troops fighting in World War II. After the war ended, Willys-Overland rebranded itself as Jeep and transformed the military vehicle into the Wrangler for consumer markets. Over the years the Wrangler has evolved into the contemporary model seen on city streets and back roads across the U.S.
