KROQ Basketball with Kimmel and Carolla – 1996

SANTA MONICA, Calif. - Aug. 7, 2013 - PRLog -- KROQ Basketball with Kimmel and Carolla – 1996

The Los Angeles "midget" basketball team, the LA Breakers, challenged KROQ Radio to a basketball game.  KROQ met their challange on April 13, 1996 in a high school gym in Reseda, CA.  

Among the players are Kevin Ryder and Gene (Bean) Baxter from the KROQ Morning Show and the team features the then unknown, Jimmy Kimmel (as Jimmy The Sports Guy), Adam Carolla (as Mr. Birchum) and Chris Hardwick (as The Announcer).  After a rousing version of the national anthem by The Armenian Comedian, the game began.  The stands were packed with KROQ contest winners and the cheerleaders were supplied by the Hooters Girls from Newport Beach.  Halftime entertainment was the Kevin - The One Man Band (who appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! many years later) and the Hooters Girls provided a hulla hoop chorus line.  Many other radio/TV personalities can be spotted as part of the team.  The video was shot and edited by Multimedia Producer, George Cook (as The Cameraman).
