CAIRNS, Australia - Aug. 6, 2013 - PRLog -- Voting will close this Friday in the Mamamia's Most Clickable Women Awards 2013, with Kristy already already named as one of Australia’s top three bloggers, after taking out the social activist category  “clicktivsm”.

Kristy was shortlisted among 50 women vying for the position as one of Australia’s most clickable Woman.

By winning the clicktivsm category, she will now compete against bloggers Erin and Trudi from Hard to Find who won the category e-commerce and Chantel from FatMumSlim who took out the category for blogging, as voting gets underway in this final stage of the award competition.

Kristy heartfelt and honest writing has touched thousands of women from across the world. She has created a safe online haven where women can share life’s ups and downs.

“I am honestly so shocked, I was so happy just to be listed among these incredible women, but to be a grand finalist is just so amazing,” she said.

“As a society we are bombarded with images of this unrealistic picture of what motherhood should be. It’s this unattainable picture that I believe a lot of women strive for.

“I wanted to break down that image but to achieve this I had to create a place women could go – a place they could feel safe and  a place they trusted.

“So that meant I had to create a culture, which takes time. I gave myself 12 months and I knew it would be hard, I just never anticipated how hard.”

Kristy’s dream is to now set up a non-for-profit organisation and enlist the services of mental health care professionals, and other aspiring women to motivate and help her followers through difficult times.

She is incredibly passionate about providing this space for women that she and her family have invested thousands of money into building a website that will cater for this ever growing community.

She works full-time in the family business, and outside of those hours she is busy being a mum, blogger and social activist as well as a listening ear to her followers.

“I am so blessed to work in our family owned business. Both my parents share my vision and believe in what I do, so they allow me time at work to moderate. I have a beautiful friend who donates her personal time to help me moderate so this allows me the time to “switch off”.

Since The Imperfect Mum began in 2012, Kristy has built a following of more than 25,000 people on Facebook and receives more than 20,000 visits per month to her website www.theimperfectmum.com.au

Kristy is now urging locals to get behind her and vote at http://www.mamamia.com.au/clickablewomen/clickable-women-voting/
