Ram Debuts Menacing New Look for Popular Pickup Truck

2013 Ram 1500's New All-Black Design Stands out in a Crowded Segment

NORRISTOWN, Pa. - Aug. 7, 2013 - PRLog -- Redesigned for 2013, the Ram 1500 has earned a reputation for being a capable, powerful vehicle, and a new trim aims to capitalize on that recognition with an even more aggressive design. The Ram Black Express, which began arriving at dealerships in July, sports an all-black exterior to set it apart from other pickups in the competitive half-ton truck segment.

With black ram's-head badges on the grille and tailgate, it's immediately apparent that the Ram 1500 Black Express is different from the rest of the crowd. Side badging has been completely removed for a more streamlined appearance, and a black front fascia, black grille surrounded by black hex-link inserts, black rear bumper and 20-inch black aluminum wheels add to the ominous look.

"The new Ram Black Express punches up the already aggressive look of the Ram 1500 to a menacing level, making it perfect for Pennsylvania drivers who want to make a statement," said Joe Orff, owner of Sport Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, a Pennsylvania Ram dealer. "It's not just looks that make the Ram Black Express so dominating, either, as the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 offers plenty of power for whatever job needs doing."

Ram fans can expect even more power options in the upcoming 2014 Ram 1500, which will offer an all-new 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 engine. The powerplant will be the first-ever diesel in the half-ton pickup truck segment, and Ram expects it to return better fuel economy than any gas-powered V6 in its class. Even with that promising efficiency, though, the diesel engine will still generate 240 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque and be able to tow up to 9,200 pounds.
