Mama Bracelets Joins UK Family as They Honor Their Daughter’s Memory

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Aug. 6, 2013 - PRLog -- Lily-Mae Fletcher was born on April 7, 2009.  One year later her parents were told the devastating news that she had Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 1.  Eleven months later, in March of 2011, Lily-Mae passed away.

Lily-Mae’s mother, Kelly, says this about her beautiful daughter; “Lily-Mae had a smile that could light up the darkest of places and a face that could make the worst of times bearable.”

Lily-Mae didn’t only leave a lasting impression on many people, she also left a spirit within her mother to carry on the fight against SMA that Lily-Mae herself so gallantly fought.  With Lily-Mae in her heart and the end goal of a cure for SMA in her head, Kelly has begun extraordinary fundraising efforts for the UK’s JTSMA (Jennifer Trust for Spinal Muscular Atrophy) by starting the “Lily-Mae for SMA” organization; a non-for-profit that donates 100% of raised funds to JTSMA.

Through the magic of the Internet, U.S. based business, Mama Bracelets, has also joined “Lily-Mae for SMA” in their efforts to raise awareness and funds for SMA.

“When I read Kelly’s story about her daughter I was taken aback.  We have a 3 year-old daughter with SMA Type 2 and know the feeling of wanting to do something to help,” says Michael Casten, Director of PR/Finance for Mama Bracelets.
