Young Actress Determined to Help Flood Victims

Aug. 5, 2013 - PRLog -- Anna is joining hands with caring businesses to help families of High River, Alberta. She said “I was shopping for back to school things with my mom and we were talking about the great challenge that High River parents must be facing trying to fix everything and replace all their belongings, and on top of that they need to get ready to go back to school. So we thought of ways we could help and came up with DRY BACKPACKS.”

DRY BACKPACKSis a great way for people and businesses to help out and at the same time for students to know who thought of them in this time of need. Those who wish to contribute, provide school supplies from a list the school board has provided.  AQ CARES is also looking for gifts and treats from businesses and individuals to fill the backpacks of students from preschool to grade 12. Donated supplies can include promotional items. Dry Backpacks will include a letter with the names of the sponsors and what they provided for that backpack. “It feels so good to think that we can help some students have what they need and treats to get back to school.” said Anna of Dry Backpacks.

AQ CARES is working with community organizations and the school board to prioritize the distribution of Dry Backpacks. “We intend to distribute Dry Backpacks in the last week of August. The more help we get the better, which means we have more backpacks to put together. I’m really hoping everyone across the country who can provide cool treats and school supplies will join in. We even had people in the U.S.A. request a Paypal donation button so they could donate. If you think of a business, that can help provide something that will make a student smile, or if they have a bunch of pencils, calculators or other promotional items with their logo on it, please ask them to help out. We give back by putting it all together and ensuringthose involved are recognized on our website, social media and any other opportunity we get. Together we can achieve so much more.” says 10 year old Anna
