California MENTOR’s Family Home Agency (FHA) to participate in Anaheim Family Health Fair

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. - Aug. 6, 2013 - PRLog -- (Fountain Valley, CA)—July 22, 2013   The California MENTOR Family Home Agency, located in Fountain Valley, California, will be participating in the 10th Annual Family Health Fair at the Anaheim Marketplace (http://events.orangecounty.com/anaheim_ca/venues/show/24234-anaheim-marketplace) on Sunday, August 18, 2013.  The fair is designed to increase awareness of local health services and resources by providing health-related information, demonstrations and activities to our community.

California MENTOR will be providing information on their program and services to recruit Mentors to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  The program matches clients with local families that would like to provide them with a family home and build meaningful relationships based on mutual respect and shared experiences.

The goal of the FHA program is to maintain a unique one-to-one living model. Nurturing caregivers, called Mentors, provide personalized services to the individual in the community and their home. California MENTOR also supports the Mentor and the individual with the disability to ensure an enriched shared living experience.

“We enjoy the opportunity to meet the general public at these events, and to provide information to them on what we do. So many people do not know how they can help these individuals with disabilities. This gives everyone a chance to get to know us, and to see how they might enrich the life of another individual,” said Neel Trivedi, program recruiter for California MENTOR.  
The Family Health Fair runs from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at 1440 S. Anaheim Blvd., Anaheim, California 92805.
