Third World Live in Concert
HOUSTON - Aug. 13, 2013 - PRLog -- On Sunday, September 1, 2013, one of the top reggae bands of all time will be appearing live at Stereo Live in Houston (6400 Richmond Avenue, Houston TX 77057). The doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm.

This is just one stop on Third World’s 40th Anniversary Tour. Spanning four decades, Third World has become one of the longest running and most diverse bands in Jamaica. They’ve received 10 Grammy nominations and have topped Billboard charts with songs like “Now That We Found Love,” “96 Degrees” and “Try Jah Love,” which was co-written and produced by Stevie Wonder.

Third World is spending 2013 traveling across continents, bringing their powerful message of love, unity and peace to fans worldwide.

The event is hosted by Music Spirit USA, an independent record label and live music production company located near Houston. Music Spirit’s commitment to the power and experience of live music has led them to organize and host a variety of exceptional concerts, festivals and events, including this one.

Music Spirit is passionate about artists who integrate and combine different traditions to create new, lasting sounds. Third World is a perfect example, sustaining the heart of reggae music while integrating African rhythms, American Pop, R&B, Rap, and Classical music.

In short, it’s reggae like you’ve never heard it before.

Opening the show is Houston’s own Neutral Sister Kyra Noons. She grew up in Kenya, where her early musical influence stemmed from the chanting and drumming sounds of the Masai warriors. Her travels from Jamaica to England to the US have brought a unique fusion to her world beat music and raw emotion displayed on stage.

Opening for Third World is one of the former lead singer for The Wailers. He is the 15-time nominee and 11-time winner of various awards in Canada such as best CD, best video, best Toronto live band, and best singer – Errol Blackwood. He will be joined by the New Orleans All-Star Reggae Band.

Between acts, the audience will move to the beat with two popular Houston DJs: DJ Hummingbird and DJ Dovey Dove.

General admission tickets can be purchased in advance for $30 from the Stereo Live ticket booth, from various vendors around Houston (see the event website for the full list), or online.
