For nearly 100 years, the American Cancer Society (ACS) has worked relentlessly to save lives and create a world with less cancer and more birthdays. Together with millions of their supporters worldwide, the ACS is helping people stay well, helping people get well, finding cures, and fighting back against cancer. On a local level, the ACS Border Sierra Region pprovides information, guidance, short-term counseling, and crisis intervention for cancer patients and their families to address concerns and issues related to cancer and its treatment.  In addition, they provide information about early detection for cancer and cancer prevention.
