Football's Summer Crime Spree Tarnishes Reputation of NFL, Says PR Expert

MIAMI - Aug. 2, 2013 - PRLog -- MIAMI – The world of football has been marred in controversy this summer, specifically concerning the criminal activities of players at both the professional and collegiate level. With the extensive coverage on the misdeeds of various players, the public is beginning to hold unfavorable views on the overall community of football players.

South Florida public relations expert John P. David says the NFL and NCAA desperately need to address the concerns surrounding the image of its players and subculture. David, president of the David PR Group, has counseled executives on public relations and crisis communications for more than 20 years.  In his blog, (miamiprblog.com), he explains that stakeholders should focus on how to address these issues before it becomes a problem too large for them to handle.

“Apologist-sounding answers aside, I think the NFL and big-time college football need to address this image issue sooner than later,” David wrote. “Reputations and ticket sales are at stake.”

Huffington Post featured David’s blog post Friday. For more information about David PR Group, call 305-255-0035 or visit www.davidpr.com.
