Follow on Google News | BERTEAL Launches GoFundMe Fundraising Campaign For New AlbumAward-Winning Americana Folk Duo BERTEAL Turns to Alternative Funding For New Self-Titled Album.
By: Talk It Up In less than a year, they’ve been winning contests and fans with their songs about life, animal welfare, self-esteem, orphans, hunger, and stepping out of your comfort zone to do important things, even if you are not the best at doing something. They hope to encourage people to be game changers for themselves and the world. Kim emphasizes the heart of her message; “it is never too late to start!” With funding as the first major obstacle to getting any project off the ground; family, friends and fans are asked to join BERTEAL in making the album a reality. The duo is onto something exciting, and in this past year the encouragement has come in validation from peers, and the music industry. Recent accolades such as: Best Group/Duo for the 2012 International Acoustic Music Awards (IAMA), honored finalists in the 2012 USA Songwriting Competition which also garnered them a showcase in Austin TX during the 2013 SXSW, and another showcase in 2013 at the world-famous Bluebird Cafe in Nashville TN. Kimberly Gentry, sister sibling of BERTEAL received another nod with 2nd Place in the Woody Guthrie Songwriting Contest for her song "How I Wanna Be," and a performance slot at the 2013 Woody Guthrie Folk Festival. Everything happening confirms that an album is necessary, and the time is now. "Please Join Team BERTEAL - We CAN do it together!"
