Follow on Google News | Eleven Days Remain for Kobina Wright’s Fascinating and Heartbreaking SeriesArtist pulls her most bizarre collage series yet from art website in August.
By: Selah Haki On July 11th 2013, Wright posted images of her collage series that combines elements of sketches, magazine clippings and handwritten notes from Wright’s personal journals. The collages were then digitally altered to set a tone of eeriness that aligns with Wrights’ threaded muse of society’s fascination with the tragedy of others. Currently Wright’s most viewed image is titled “Fascinating and Heartbreaking VI” which includes images of two mermaids; a sandcastler; Wright, a second generation Southern California native, wrote her third volume of poetry titled, "Say It! Say Gen-o-cide!!" − dedicated to the Rwandan Genocide of 1994. In 2009 she co-authored a volume of nuler poetry titled “A Crime And A Simplification Of Something Sublime” and in 2010 wrote a volume of nuler poetry titled, “50.” So far in 2013, Wright’s literary and art works have been published in: The Bicycle Review; Boxcar Poetry Review; Burning Word Literary Journal; Crack the Spine; The Fiction Week Literary Review; The Missing Slate; Orion headless; The Passionate Transitory; Subliminal Interiors and Wilderness House Literary Review. Later this year, Wright is scheduled to be featured in V.W.L. Magazine. She is also the creator of the Hodaoa-Anibo language. To view Wrights’ selected works from “Fascinating and Heartbreaking” End
