DUBLIN - July 30, 2013 - PRLog -- Dublin – July 30, 2013:  Irish Entrepreneur and author Declan Kavanagh has just published a new book “Advantage – A Roadmap for Entrepreneurs & Leaders in the Digital Age”, with positive reviews from Academia, Multi-Nationals and Silicon valley entrepreneurs. “Experience and Research indicate that on average only 50% of new businesses are in existence after 4 years, this has a profound impact on the entrepreneur’s and economies. My experience and research indicated that there are better approaches to helping entrepreneurs succeed, which are more agile in nature than the traditional sequential approach centred on a static business plan. Even a few percentage points improvement in success rates can have a significant effect on job creation and economic growth. For Ireland as an example a 5% improvement could lead to an extra 10,000  jobs and  €300m in exports, so I decided to develop a framework “The Business Advantage Model (BAM)” and create  a practical guide for entrepreneur’s starting a business or leaders trying to grow scale in a business” says the author Declan Kavanagh . Declan has been invited to present his findings at international conferences including the forthcoming annual “ 13th International Entrepreneurs Forum” in Vilnius, Lithuania , September 4th to 6th.

“The model presented in the book is a step forward vis-à-vis the old fashioned model of the business plan, which is static and deterministic. I see in the BAM™ approach an organic, non-linear component which is in line with The international Academy for Entrepreneurship experimental methodology. Therefore, most sincere compliments to Declan.” Says  Professor Piero Formica Europe’s leading academic in this space and visiting Professor at NUIM Maynooth. “Declan Kavanagh, author of this well thought out approach to entrepreneurship as a successful entrepreneur and investor, Declan has always seen the need to ‘give back’ and to help other start-ups achieve the success he has himself enjoyed over the years”. Noel Crawford leads the IBM Innovation Centre in Dublin. “This is a crucial and useful model/book that addresses the feasibility of a new or existing product/services to validate the concept and bring to reality, if I had this book, I would have saved time and energy searching each of them independently to know which areas to focus on in the ventures I have been involved with.” Vaus Aslaun is a Silicon Valley Entrepreneur and  founder of silicon valley startup Truegence.

In his most recent paper Mr Kavanagh identified the top 5 critical success factors for entrepreneurial economies as being,  Attitude – the attitude of the entrepreneur and society, Education – changing  what we teach and how we teach entrepreneurship, Agility – information driven, learning and adaption models for entrepreneurs, Eco-Systems aligned and organised to enable successful start-ups, Advantage – identification of sources, creation of, and leveraging as a focus for both Entrepreneurs and Economies.
