Online Publisher Seeks Funding For Further Growth

FORT SMITH, Ark. - July 29, 2013 - PRLog -- eBookOnFire.com, the online eBook Publisher that is setting new standards of service for self-published Authors, is seeking funding for even more expansion.

"One of the things we're looking at," said founder Wayne Hicks, "is arranging promotional tours for some of the Authors who are inquiring about signing with us. This is something that doesn't happen for eBook Authors, because nobody thinks of book signings on a Kindle or Nook, but we think it's just as feasible as for print Authors. Most fans would love an autographed photo of their favorite new Author, or the chance to have a photo taken with him or her."

But new services mean more expenditures, and that's what led him to Indiegogo.com.

"We're at the limit of our own resources for now," said Wayne. "I've heard a lot about crowdfunding, and decided it was worth a try to bring even more services to the Authors, which only improves the field for our Readers."

Adding more services means more staff, as well. Up until now, according to Wayne, he's been fortunate enough to find people who will work for a share of the fees and commissions they generate.

"Most of the folks with me now are professionals in their own right, contributing their time and labor because they believe in our mission. But  now we need office staff, a manager and bookkeeper to make sure everything runs right and gets paid on time. A regular office staff, even part time, needs a steady paycheck they can count on.

"I spoke with various Angel Investors, but none of those I found really understood the world that eBook Authors live in. My hope is that with crowdfunding, I can reach some who do."

He hasnt ruled out outside investment, however. "If I had the chance to speak with someone who understands what we're trying to do here, sure, I'd consider a partner or investor."
