PRLog -- The team at Arlington Heights Ford (http://www.ahford.com/

Dealer) can certainly vouch for the Mustang — it’s an iconic pony car that’s been setting the benchmark for style and performance since its introduction decades ago, and it looks to maintain its place as a trendsetter. It’s recently come to light that Ford will likely launch a limited edition 2014 ¼ model, which will serve as the Mustang’
s 50
th Anniversary Edition while heralding its next-generation redesign.
While Ford has yet to say when or where the model will be revealed, or even if it will in fact see the light of day, its existence has been rumored by multiple sources. The “2014 ½”
designation references the Mustang models of early 1964 before the traditional start of production for 1965 models. These were dubbed 1964 ½ Mustang models, and they differed in a number of ways from the Mustang models that followed — they even featured a different powertrain.
According to MustangsDaily.com (
http://mustangsdaily.com/blog/2013/07/18/first-1000-next-...), this won’t be the case with the 2014 ½ model, which is expected to come equipped with the same 450-hp 5.0L V8 engine as the 2015 Mustang. There will surely be ways in which the 2014 ½ models are differentiated from the 2015 editions, though, and their limited run — only 1,000 are expected to be produced — will likely make them highly sought-after by driving enthusiasts and collectors.
There’
s more exciting news for the collectors out there, too, since Chevrolet is expected to take a similar approach with the hotly anticipated 2014 Corvette Stingray. There will be 500 Premier Edition models produced, which will feature unique trim and upholstery — they’ll also each feature a numbered plaque to confirm their authenticity.
While the 2014 ½ Mustang is on everyone’
s mind, drivers would do well to consider the standard 2014 Ford Mustang (

Area drivers can try it out now at Arlington Heights Ford. The dealership is located at 801 W. Dundee Rd. in Arlington Heights, and features the full lineup of new Ford models, in addition to a variety of pre-owned vehicles and a top-notch service center.
