Robots Take Over At Tonbridge Golf Centre

TONBRIDGE, U.K. - July 29, 2013 - PRLog -- With the positive feedback received from golfers about the TrueStrike Golf Mat and TrueTee Ball automation at Tonbridge Golf Centre, since its introduction early this year. The highly rated golf facility decided to expand its business relationship with B.O.P Europe Ltd, by having Belrobotics automated lawn mower and ball picker installed at their facility.

Just as TrueStrike and TrueTee is designed to broaden golf facilities appeal to the better golfers by providing a realistic golf practice experience. The Belrobotics duo is most definitely a labour and cost reducing robotic marvel, the robot ballpicker provides Tonbridge with a constant ball supply, as well as protecting their balls from being plugged or cut. The robot mower promotes a healthy outfield through BigMow's mulching technique, meaning there is no green waste to dispose of.

The installation was carried out with minimal impact to the facility and began with the installation of a boundary guide wire. The wire presents no danger to people or animals and within several days is grown over and no longer visible, but in turn will operate as a magnetic field to guide the robot. The next phase was the installation of the ball return system, which washes and returns the ball to the ball dispenser. Once completed the robots are programmed and can then begin diligently and silently working across the whole of the outfield, equipped with sonar and a safety bumper, so they are able to slow down and avoid obstacles.
