July 26, 2013 - PRLog -- George is the name of the main character, a hero of the 21st century, in the book published earlier this year in the US by a Russian author Ignaty Dyakov. A utopian story in the detective genre got raving success not the least because of the character’s name.

‘The Story Sensation: for learners of the Russian language (and not only for Guadeloupians!)” is an unusual book, which by getting readers interested in the story makes them learn Russian – the skill of huge importance nowadays, when Russo-British relations become warmer prior to the Russia-UK Year of Culture.

Mr Dyakov says, that it was so important to choose the character’s name which would help learners embrace the differences in the languages and at the same time show that our cultures are close to each other. English name George with six letters in it sounds very similar to its’ Russian version, yet in writing Russian letters look completely different and one by one form different sounds. Same happens with English symbols. Only together they bring the same meaning, the same sounding.

George from the book is a vegetarian banker, who successfully fights the evil in this world and lives ethical life. His victory of the evil is rewarded and he is promoted to high positions in the bank only to find himself working even harder to make our world better in the following book (to be published early next year).

With the Royal baby named George (Sincerest congratulations to  the Duchess and Duke of Cambridge), Mr Dyakov’s only hope is that he will bring Russo British relations to the next level.
