The Bat Doctor speaks at 2013 Girard First Baptist Church Summer Day Camp
The First Baptist Church in Girard, IL held their Summer Day Camp in June / July. Their final presenter of the summer on July 8, 2013 was Dr. Todd Austin from Virden, IL. Austin is also known throughout Central IL as THE BAT DOCTOR.
VIRDEN, Ill. - July 25, 2013 - PRLog -- The First Baptist Church in Girard, IL held their 5-week long 2013 Summer Day Camp in June and July which was open to youth from the Northern Macoupin County (North Mac) Area and ran 2 days per week for a total of 10 days.
Their final presenter of the summer on July 8, 2013 was Dr. Todd Austin from Virden. Austin, a Chiropractic Physician and Cold Laser Therapist from Austin Family Chiropractic is also known as The Bat Doctor. While nearly 70 children attended the 2013 Summer Day Camp in this it's 3rd year, 40 were in attendance to hear The Bat Doctor speak about "IL Bats: Insect Eating Machines".
Austin has now given well over 100 speeches as The Bat Doctor, both entertaining and educating over 5,600 people of all ages. He has been a member of Bat Conservation International since 1990. He used pictures of his own work with bats over the years and told some neat bat stories. He also brought along a bat house and a jar of bat guano to explain to the children.
