LONDON - July 25, 2013 - PRLog -- LONDON – 25 JULY, 2013 – Six Degrees Group last night announced its sponsorship of the British Interactive Media Association (BIMA) Awards – the awards recognise creative thinking and tangible business benefits in modern media platforms. As part of its support for BIMA, Six Degrees Group has supported the latest big event of the digital calendar - the annual Digital Hall of Fame event, which took place last night in Piccadilly, Central London. The Digital Hall of Fame recognises influential and inspirational Brits in the UK's digital industry, with this year’s inducteesJoanna Shields, Justin Cooke, Luke Taylor, Matt Brittin and Nigel Vaz.

BIMA is an industry body, made up of hundreds of organisations, representing the diverse interests of the digital industry in the United Kingdom. Spanning over two decades, the BIMA Awards are amongst the most established and the most coveted awards in Britain. BIMA reflects the diversity and dynamism of the digital media industry today and helps to celebrate British talent. The Digital Hall of Fame was launched last year to recognise creative and technical pioneers of the industry including interactive businesses, projects or digital marketing activities in the UK market.

Campbell Williams, group strategy and marketing director, Six Degrees Group said, “Today the versatility of an online platform for any project or campaign is vital for success. This means organisations are looking for the very best to create their platform and – from the best designers to the highest quality hosting infrastructure. This also includes better ways to engage with their customers and global teams via managed services, such as video conferencing. BIMA is all about celebrating and championing digital excellence, which is something to be commended itself so we are pleased to have been part of the event last night.”

Tim Parfitt, BIMA member and CEO Netcel, said “from mobile to more traditional websites, the industry is working hard to develop digital platforms that reflect the modern lifestyle. Companies are beginning to understand the relevance of the digital industry in a modern age - that’s where BIMA comes in. BIMA is working to further transform the industry by highlighting the accomplishments of remarkable individuals and organisations and the sector as a whole.”

Matt Pilgrim, Chair of Events at BIMA, said: “UK digital is an economic and cultural powerhouse and credit for this lies with the likes of those honoured in the BIMA Digital Hall of Fame Hot 100. It is an honour to be part of recognising these incredible people who show exactly what can be achieved when talent meets passion and dedication.”
