Trade Show Entertainment Top Tips and Tricks: Boosting Booth Traffic

With so many other competing booths to choose from, maximize your chances they'll cross the carpet into yours. Magnify your exposure with carefully chosen booth entertainment . Here are a few creative ideas to attract, capture & keep them in.

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. - July 24, 2013 - PRLog -- Trade shows are like shopping centers - with lots and lots of “stores” and rows of potential buyers in one place.
The problem is, you’re not the only store.  You can have the best product in the business, but if they’re not attracted to your booth the big bucks you paid out were wasted.  Successful Sales and Marketing people know it’s all about Engagement.

With every exhibitor hoping for their attention - for the trade show attendee who has to walk rows and rows of booths, here’s their typical strategy:
1st Pass Through: – They window shop
2nd Pass Through: They pick and choose
3rd pass (IF there is a 3rd): They’re tired they want the freebies and want to go home

Building booth traffic requires building buzz in and around your booth: Where crowds gather - people go.
Given that attendees are attracted by what they see, hear, taste, touch and feel, what’s your grab? Once the aisles open, getting them to cross the carpet is the goal.  So, are you a standout?

Here are some tips & tricks*
1.    A futuristic Booth Ambassador with robotic characteristics and a commanding presence waving people over & into the booth.  Coaching and scripting them to pitch your product before the show is a big bonus (we don’t mean throw someone into a cheap & cheesy costume )!  This strategy matches well if your marketing message says: “We are trend setters, always thinking ahead, always ahead of our competition, we are the future”.  You can also script the performer to  pitch your product

2.    An Impersonator who really looks like/sounds like a popular celebrity.  Of course, if you can afford the real celebrity, go for it!

3.    Photo Booths & Green Screen Photo Studios: Burn your brand into their memory with pictures of the attendees, i.e. the robotic performer, the celebrity impersonator, etc., your staff and your logo printed on-the-spot.

4.    An interactive illusionist with an amazing variety of cool magic tricks

5.    Cirque-style talents i.e. A Stilt Walker waving to guests, an aerialist hanging from a secure/stable truss overhead, etc.   Certain restrictions may apply.   Check first with the venue.

* Any type of booth attraction hired to build traffic - should be professional, know what they are doing and tailor their services to your needs.  Partnering with an experienced event marketing company and getting their recommendations and guidance in matching your message with the right exhibit attraction will make the difference.  You’ve invested too much time and money to have your brand-image called into question by the actions of an amaturs
