JACKSONVILLE, N.C. - July 24, 2013 - PRLog -- JACKSONVILLE, NC – Building on its current success and popularity, Wine and Design has announced the opening of its newest franchise location in Jacksonville, NC.  The wine and painting party studio is owned and operated by Angela Taylor and Daniel Days and is located at 1006-B Henderson Drive.

Jacksonville is the home of Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, a 246-square-mile military training facility that is the world's most complete amphibious base, as well as Marine Corps Air Station New River.  The establishment of Camp Lejeune in 1941 quickly turned the quiet farming community of Jacksonville into a financial, retail, business, and cultural center for Onslow County.  Taylor said that Jacksonville is a great place for Wine and Design’s newest franchise.

“Both Daniel and I felt that the community of Jacksonville really needed a place where people could come and relax after a hard day at work,” said Taylor.  “At Wine and Design, folks can drink a little wine or beer, paint, and just have an all-around great night out.”

Taylor is originally from England, but has lived in the U.S. for the past six years.  She has a degree in Education and has worked with children for the last 20+ years.  Her partner and fiancée, Daniel Days, was born in Chinquapin, NC—a small town not far from Jacksonville—and is a retired veteran.  He is also a retired Wake County Sheriff’s Deputy.  Before Days’ retirement from the Sheriff’s Department, both he and Taylor had decided that they wanted to live near his hometown.  When both had heard of an opportunity to open a studio in Jacksonville, they quickly decided to buy the franchise.

Wine and Design first opened its doors in Raleigh in April 2010 as the dream of longtime friends and business partners Emmy Preiss and Harriet Mills.  The wine/painting party concept was a first in the Triangle and has proven so popular, that Preiss and Mills now operate studios throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and New York.  A studio in California is set to open soon.  Like the current franchise operations, the Jacksonville studio will offer a two-hour painting class at a cost starting at $35 per person.

Wine and Design provides the canvas, apron, paints, paintbrushes, and corkscrew and attendees provide a beverage of his or her choosing.  First-time painters, aspiring artists, or self-proclaimed pro’s browse the studio’s website to find a painting they would like to replicate.  Sessions are led by local artists that guide participants through a carefully-orchestrated, step-by-step process that promises a finished “masterpiece” at the end of the two-hour session.

“An important part of Wine and Design is being made to feel like family,” said Taylor.  “Both Harriett and Emmy provide an incredible support system for their franchises.  It has been a lot of hard work getting our studio ready, but with the amazing help we’ve received from the corporate office, we’re ready and excited to be a part of this growing community.”

Wine and Design Jacksonville will be offering date nights, paint your house, and paint your pet nights.  They also accept private party bookings and will be offering children’s parties and camps in the near future.  The studio will also be offering several regional paintings that celebrate the area including the city’s Freedom Fountain, animals that can be seen at Lynnwood Park Zoo, and a lighthouse similar to the one located on Bear Island.  Wine and Design Jacksonville will be open Monday-Saturday from 11:00am to 3:00pm and from 5:30pm to 9:30pm.  The studio will operate on Sundays for private parties.

To celebrate its addition to the community, the studio will be hosting an Open House to be held on Saturday, August 3rd from 5:30-9:30pm.  The event will feature prize drawings throughout the evening, as well as painting demonstrations and complementary food and beverages.  For more information, visit www.wineanddesignus.com/Jacksonville.html or call (919) 931-8452.
