Franklin Lakes Resident Appointed to NJ Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Foundation Board of Trustees

 
HOLMDEL, N.J. - July 24, 2013 - PRLog -- The New Jersey Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Foundation has recently appointed Francis P. Crotty of Franklin Lakes, NJ to its Board of Trustees. Crotty is a veteran of the Vietnam War, during which he served as a Military Intelligence Analyst, as well as an Interpreter and Interrogator in the 25th Infantry Division and the 1st Air Cavalry Division. He was awarded the South Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry Bronze Star and Army Commendation Medal. Crotty has served on the Board of Directors of the Wyckoff YMCA, currently the largest YMCA in New Jersey, for the past 28 years. He has also helped organize Memorial Day and Veterans Day events in Berkshire County, Massachusetts for 20 years.

Throughout his legal career, Crotty has engaged in the general practice of law, with an emphasis on trial practice, specializing in personal injury, medical malpractice and products liability. He has also handled a substantial number of property damage and subrogation claims and numerous construction cases. In addition, he has represented many small businesses as their general counsel.

Crotty coached numerous boys and girls club and town athletic teams in a variety of sports, including basketball, baseball, softball and soccer for ten years. He also served as the Commissioner of the Wyckoff Travel Basketball Program for four years. In the late 1990s, he was Treasurer and Vice President of the Ramapo High School Sports Booster Organization. He is currently the Race Director for the Wyckoff-Franklin Lakes Triathlon, which is the largest and longest running multisport race in New Jersey. He has also competed in more than 75 triathlons over the course of 25 years, often qualifying for Nationals.
