Within six months, Alena had acquired over 700 hotel rooms exceeding $50 million. Mr. Patel has a unique level of experience as he worked for both Marriott Hotels International and Wyndham Hotels following seven years in the banking and financial services industry. He is still currently involved in the financial services industry as well as CEO of Alena Hospitality. Mr. Patel leads all acquisition efforts, franchise negotiations and renovation design planning. Mr. Patel is also a part owner of the NBA team, Memphis Grizzles. In early 2013, the Alena Hospitality Trust was formed and capitalized by Nik Patel as well as institutional investors, for the purpose of purchasing over $150 million in additional hotel real estate assets in 2013.
