New Street Audio Acquires KIRKUS "Best Books" of 2012 Selection

Audio release of Arthur Goldwag's much-praised and hotly-debated THE NEW HATE: A HISTORY OF FEAR AND LOATHING ON THE POPULIST RIGHT scheduled for November.

NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. - July 23, 2013 - PRLog -- Originally published by Pantheon (hardcover), Vintage (paperback) and Random House Digital (eBook) in 2012, Arthur Goldwag's The New Hate: A History of Fear and Loathing on the Populist Right has garnered much critical applause and also much outrage, the latter coming from contemporary practitioners of the bigotry which is the book's subject.

New Street Audio, a division of New Street Communications, has acquired audio rights to this important work and will publish the audiobook in November.

In the way of praise, KIRKUS selected The New Hate as one of its "Best Books" for the year 2012. KIRKUS described the The New Hate as "... a deeply researched, fascinating history of the role that organized hatred has played in American politics. The New Hate takes readers on a surprising, often shocking, sometimes bizarrely amusing tour through the swamps of nativism, racism, and paranoia that have long thrived on the American fringe."

Publisher's Weekly said: "A witty narrator, Goldwag combines his research with contemporary analysis to explain what conspiracy theories all have in common and to show how the new hate is the same as the old, though it’s now 'hiding in plain sight' ... " And the LA Progressive hailed Goldwag's engaging narrative as a "comprehensive history of hatred ... fueled by a brand of ignorance so unbelievably irrational, so egregiously wrong, so utterly antihuman, that it staggers the imagination of thinking adults."
