By: CW3PR Geoff Zanelli (“The Lone Ranger” As one of the moderators for the evening, Matt Lanter (“90210” and “Star Wars: The Clone Wars”) kicked off the panel by addressing the composers, “I’ “True Blood” Deborah Ann praised the panelists by saying, “As actors, we know very well that every scene, every character, is enhanced by the music that accompanies it, so hopefully we have some inside tips we can get out of you guys.” Throughout the event, the composers each discussed what it was like working on their respective projects and how aspiring musicians can find themselves writing songs, lyrics, and score for a film, television show, or video game. Multiple panelists shared a common thread of collaboration on some level, with the same producing teams, directors, and musicians. Kevin Kiner talked to fans about his involvement in “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and what it was like to reinvent John Williams’ Michael Suby spoke about working with Executive Producer, Julie Plec throughout his career on projects such as “Kyle XY,” “The Vampire Diaries,” Geoff Zanelli, who has worked with Hans Zimmer on multiple movies, spoke about their collaborative relationship and the hard work that went into re-imagining the William Tell Overture theme song for the recently released, “The Lone Ranger” After watching an exclusive clip of iZLER visiting the set of “Revenge” with series star, Emily VanCamp, fans listened as he talked about working with the same 50-piece orchestra each week to create the iconic sound for the show. Robert Duncan spoke about his use of unusual instruments, including an actual submarine that he utilized to score the television series “Last Resort.” FM Le Sieur made a special trip all the way from Montreal, Canada to talk to “Being Human” The number one question asked at the CW3PR panels throughout the years from fans to the composers is “How do I get your job?”, and this year was no exception. Chris Tilton educated attendees about how he got his start working with well-known composer, Michael Giacchino, and how important it is to get internships and learn as much as you can from your musical idols. The panelists concluded by talking about what projects were coming up next for them, followed by a Q&A session, where fans made it clear they would need at least three hours to get every question they had answered.
