The Lantern Award designation recognizes excellence in a wide variety of areas including an emergency room’s commitment to quality, safety, a healthy work environment, performance and outcome metrics and a commitment to innovation in nursing practices and emergency care. By achieving the Lantern Award, emergency departments have a visual representation and acknowledgement that they exemplify a culture of excellence in emergency care and a committed leadership team.

Richard Hammett, Chief Executive Officer, stated, “Our Emergency Room team is one of the best in the nation. As a Level II Trauma Center, we are continually training, innovating and improving our safety and patient care programs as well as performance metrics. This recognition is well deserved by our medical teams.”
