BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - July 22, 2013 - PRLog -- 2012 marked the start of a new era in automotive entertainment when Carlisle Events, a south central Pennsylvania-based company took ownership of the Bloomsburg car show, located in northeast Pennsylvania.  With the marriage of the two, a new show; the Bloomsburg Nationals powered by Carlisle Events was born.  During the first offering, nearly 1,000 show cars were part of the weekend and the fun drew enthusiasts from the region over.  Those who came to the event either browsed or showcased cars, trucks and motorcycles, all of which highlighted automotive history.  Many onsite earned a plaque and one person earned a $1,000 Best-of-Show distinction.  In 2013, the fun continues as does the amazing cash awards, as one random and very lucky showfield participant will win $1,000.

The cash prize this year, while the same as last, is not specifically for a car deemed Best-of-Show.  Instead, via a computer database of all registered car owners that are part of the showfield at the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds, a name will be drawn at random to determine who wins the cash.  The winner need not be present to claim their prize; however, to be eligible, hopeful winners must be registered and in the system by noon on Sunday.  The winner, along with those who are fortunate enough to be honored with awards, will be recognized during the Sunday afternoon awards parade.  The parade will begin at approximately 1 p.m. in front of the Quaker Steak & Lube stage.  Last year, during the first year of the event, every car owner and prizewinner was part of the parade and the tradition is expected to continue in 2013.

"$1,000 is a lot of money and it's great that every car owner on the showfield has an equal opportunity to win it," noted event manager Ed Buczeskie.  "In too many cases, awards like this are reserved for cars that have had the most money invested in them and often that eliminates 95% of the cars at the show.  In today's world many of us just want a cool driver and now we can also be eligible for the same award as someone who has a $100,000 car."

In addition to a random $1,000 prize and Sunday awards parade, the Bloomsburg Nationals powered by Carlisle Events features a great array of family fun.  There is an area specific to kid friendly entertainment.  This area includes games, remote control car racing, arts and crafts, plus the ability to pick an award via Kids’ Choice.  Adults will find Bloomsburg very inviting too, with stunt shows, live music, great displays and more.  There are onsite competitions, including a Saturday-only Ms. Bloomsburg Nationals beauty contest, burnouts showcase, teeter totter, slow drags, downtown Bloomsburg gridlock parade and muffler rap.  The biggest draw of all might just be the available food options.  With the event held at the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds, home to one of the oldest fairs in the country, many of the same great food vendors who set up at the fair are also onsite for car show weekend.  This great mix of child and adult entertainment makes the Bloomsburg Nationals a must-attend event!
