By: lexicon pr The RWA E-waste Collection Drive was launched following the overwhelming success witnessed during the previous e-waste collection drives organized by Attero in the Delhi NCR region. This RWA e-waste collection event was the 42nd E-waste Collection Drive organized by Attero and the 31st in Delhi and aims to reach out to consumers directly and offer them an eco-friendly solution for disposing their old and broken down electronics. The two day event at the Dronacharya, Medha, OCS and UNESCO Apartments targeted over 3,500 residents. As part of the awareness program, residents were informed about what e-waste consists of, the various hazardous toxins in e-waste and the necessity of environmentally responsible disposal of e-waste. Following the awareness program, residents were encouraged to drop off their old broken down electronics and gadgets in Attero’ This e-waste collection event was launched under the Clean E-India Initiative banner. Besides organizing e-waste collection events in residential societies, Attero also organizes these collection drives in corporate organizations, schools and other institutions, as part of the Clean E-India Initiative. The Clean E-India Initiative is the result of a partnership between the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a World Bank entity, and Attero. The initiative aims to raise awareness about e-waste and establish an effective take back model for e-waste collection, by bringing together and working with all stakeholders involved in the electronics supply chain. As more and more consumers participate in these e-waste collection events it will bring in huge network benefits as each new consumer joining the network brings incremental value to all other consumers who are part of the network because more OEMs join in.
